Joel Rice's Flip Skate Column on McSweeney's

Quite greedily, I have spent the better part of the last two hours reading and re-reading Joel Rice's Flip: A Column About Skateboarding on McSweeney's. Rice has written six pieces this year including interviews with Christian Hosoi and Ed Templeton. My favorites, however, are his first and last. Have a look at Rice's interview with Bret Anthony Johnston, former pro skater and current director of Harvard's creative writing program. (Mr. Johnston can make dance a word or two...or make skate, as it were.) Rice's newest entry was posted today. Its a short, personal piece about the first week of high school and chance meeting with James Kelch at a tiny SF skate shop a long time ago.
